OUR MISSION
Deaf Options is a holistic consultant that provides support and resources to the D/deaf and hearing community.
We are dedicated to empowering the D/deaf community to live their best lives by supporting them and raising awareness to D/deaf issues and the barriers faced by the Deaf community.
We support them in the workplace, and provide D/deaf Awareness courses to hearing employers and organisations.
SERVICES
At Deaf Options, we offer a range of services to support the D/deaf community;
British Sign Language (BSL) relay interpreter services, Deaf awareness courses, employment advice and support, D/deaf wellness and consultancy.
We are extremely experienced having worked within the community for over 20 years in many roles including; advocacy, deaf rights campaigning, community outreach, employment advisor and support worker.
My role as Senior Disability Manager for the London Indian Film Festival allowed me to advise the steering group on accessibility and inclusion.
EDUCATION
At Deaf Options we believe in the importance of ongoing education and training.
We specialise in delivering D/deaf Awareness training and courses to large or small organisations that want to improve their engagement, accessibility and inclusivity.
We have delivered sessions to many organisations including Sign Health Charity, London Indian Film Festival (LIFF), Blue Tit (award winning hairdresser in East London) and AMSAAN Accessible Tours.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
Having worked within the Deaf community for many years and campaigned for the rights of the D/deaf community, I am especially passionate and enthusiastic to help improve the lives of D/deaf children.
I have assisted the Lead Teacher to the Deaf as a Deaf Educational Instructor in schools across London. I spent many years in the 'community' and delivering impactful projects as a Charity Trustee for Deaf Ethnic Women's Association (DEWA).
I was very proud to be involved in the British Deaf Associations campaign for a British Sign Language Charter that the Mayor of London signed in November 2023.
